Friedrich-Ludwig-Jahn-Straße 15Phone: 08631/1843-164 Season from mid November to early March On December 22, 1975, Mühldorf made a special Christmas present to its citizens: The new ice-rink in Friedrich-Ludwig-Jahn-Straße was opened to the public on schedule. The response of the public was very good. Especially ice-skaters and curling teams were enthralled, as they were at last able to subscribe to their hobbies in Mühldorf under the sun and in fresh air. As the technical facilities of the ice-rink near the fair ground were no longer state of the art, the town’s department of works decided to carry out extensive redevelopment measures in 1991. A modernisation of the technical equipment was completed in the same year. An overall redevelopment of the ice-rink and repairs to the existing machines were carried out in the following years. Today skating under the open sky enthrals young and old alike. Additional enhancements were realised with the installation of advertising facilities on the hoardings round the perimeter of the ice-rink. The opening of a kiosk offering a great variety of drinks and snacks was another improvement for the visitors of the ice-rink. Further benefits are the possibility of renting ice-skates at the rink and the offer of skating courses for both children and adults. Numerous clubs also use the ice-rink as venue for curling championships. Unlike an indoor ice-rink, the open air ice-rink of Mühldorf provides you the advantage of vividly enjoying the first snow flakes at full speed – and all that with family-friendly admission fees. |
