The Städt. Musikschule Mühldorf a. Inn has kept close links with the local authorities for more than 25 years. Music and the exercise of music in its varied manifestations play an essential role in man's social and cultural self-fulfilment in both profession and leisure time. This central idea asks for a meaningful offer of creative activities with music for as many social strata as possible. In Mühldorf upon Inn, the 'Städt. Musikschule Mühldorf' promotes and communicates musical culture on a high level thus fulfilling its cultural and educational task in an exemplary way.

The music school intends to lead young people towards singing and exercising music at an early stage. As an educational institute its task is to reveal and develop the musical skills of children and young people. It thus replenishes the music lessons of schools, provides musical exercise with a wide variety of highly qualified lessons and develops the musical skills and talents of adult laymen. It seeks the cooperation with other institutions and is always grateful for promising suggestions.

In the past few years, the mayor and the city councillors have provided a solid basis for the music school. It is put up in rooms of its own on the market square (Stadtplatz 54). Lessons are also held in the branch school in Neumarkt St.Veit.
